The Lenchford Inn to Stourport

The sun was shining and it looked set to be a glorious day, so we set off early towards Stourport.  The river was very calm and we only saw a couple of other boats.

Got to Lincomb Lock and went through there very easily, then onto Stourport.  Moored up and went up to the first staircase lock, there was a boat coming through so we waited for them to go out on the river, then in came Kev, I then did the lock, but found the paddles a bit stiff, out of practice I think!

Up through the other staircase lock and out into Stourport Basin, stopped for water, then pulled back into the overnight mooring spot.

Went up into the town and looked around the shops and did a bit of shopping, then walked back through the permanent fairground and was really surprised to see so many people there, when we have walked through there in the past it has been like a ghost town.

Walked up the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal for a bit, stopped at the café by York Street lock for a coffee and also had an ice cream and sat in the sun, lovely.  Had an Indian take away from Namaste for dinner, really nice.

Can't wait to set off up the canal proper tomorrow.
