Northwich to Barnton Cut (River Weaver)

Disused Chemical Works
John & Sharon in going up up up!
It was raining when we got up but it eased off, so we went up to the services and filled up with water, etc.  Chugged on leaving Northwich behind and back up past the Anderton Lift and guess who was going up the lift, John, Sharon and Smuggle Bugs, we waved to them as we chugged by.  On we went around the corner and up the river, past a disused chemical works and then the river became very rural again and we moored at Barnton Cut.

Waited for the rain to go over, it then brightened up and we set off for a walk.  We walked along the tow path, then up the lane and at the top which is not very far is the Trent and Mersey Canal, walked along to Barnton Tunnel, up over the tunnel and into the village of Barnton.

Nisa in Barnton
Post Office/Chemist in Barnton
There is a Nisa shop on the corner, we walked along the road and there was a butchers, chemist, post office, two take-aways and four hairdressers.  It’s a nice village, walked back along the road, went in the Nisa, they are very friendly and then back down the hill to the River and walked along to the lock.   There are some nice moorings just past the lock with a water tap.  Saw a boat go through  the lock, walked back to the boat and just chilled out.  Might chug off tomorrow depending on the weather.
