Worcester to The Lenchford Inn

Decided to leave Worcester today, so set off nice and early, the sun was shining and it was warm already.  Up past Worcester Cathedral and under the big road bridge, saw a couple of boats but the river was very quiet, and we were pleased to see that the river was really calm and had dropped a fair bit.  On we went towards Bevere Lock and a narrow boat came chomping along and past us but when we got to the lock he was waiting for it to be emptied so tearing along didn’t get him any further.  We both went in the lock and we went along side him, he was a single hander and up we went nice and gently.  We went out first, but it wasn’t long before he sped past us again and disappeared out of sight.

We got to the Wharf Inn and moored up as we have never stopped here and just wanted to see what it was like, but the pub was closed, we think it only opens in the evenings in the week, but it looked a bit run down so we decided to go on.

We got to Holt Lock and went in and up nice and gentle and on round the corner to The Lenchford Inn, moored up and went in, sat in the garden in the sun and had a really nice lunch.

Back to the boat for a siesta, tried to get a signal for the TV, but no joy so went to the modern world and watched it on line on the BBC i-player live, oh technology isn’t it wonderful, how would be mange without it!  Read and sit by the wireless, ha ha, I don’t think so, I can’t read and Kev’s tone deaf!
