Couple of Days at Upton on Severn

Staying in Upton for a couple of days,  just as well really as woke up yesterday morning (Friday 9 May) with a bad eye, swollen and red and couldn’t  see out of it and brightness hurt it, thought that I had an infection in it again.

Got an appointment with the local doctor and walked up there, not too far.  Saw the Doctor and as I thought he would say, I had to go to eye clinic at Kidderminster Hospital about 20 miles away!  Great!! The receptionist helped us with bus time table to Worcester and Kidderminster so we legged it back to the town to get the bus, it was on time and the fare was really cheap, £3.00 return bargain!!.  We got to Worcester and decided to catch the train to Kidderminster which worked well.  Walked up to the hospital with the aid of the GPS on Kev’s phone and saw the doctor, I had scratched my eye, so got drops and cream, but will take about 4 to 6 weeks to heal and guess what I can’t wear contact lenses until then, oh what joy!!

Got train and bus back to Upton.  Bus ride took twice as long as normal as got caught up in traffic  leaving the show at the Three Counties Show Ground, oh public transport, don’t you just love it!

We had planned to have a bus ride today to Tewkesbury but instead we had the joy of Kidderminster, how lovely!!  Still Kev got his bus ride so don’t know why he was complaining!!

We are staying at Upton today as well and planning to head up to Worcester tomorrow, hope its not as windy, as its blowing a hoolie just now.
