Anderton Country Park (River Weaver) to Anderton (Trent & Mersey)

Kev's Tip Cap
Last night, Kev finished off his second fender, a tip cap for the stern of the boat.  It is really good, he is really getting the hang of this knitting, might ask for a winter jumper next!!

In we go!
On holding moorings waiting for lift
When we got up, the sun was out, but then we had a couple of showers, they went over and we walked up to the CRT office and booked on the lift.  Our slot to go up was 11.30am.  Went back to the boat and moved on to the holdings moorings at the bottom of the lift.  Waited for the lift to come down, two boats came out and then it was our turn to go in.

Up we go
We had to wait a bit for another boat to come in alongside of us, then up we went and out on to the Trent & Mersey canal.  We turned right and moored on the visitor moorings.  We then had a heavy rain shower, but luckily it went over before we wanted to go out.

We walked up past the lift and over the bridge to the Stanley Arms. Before we went in the pub, we went to the farm just down the road to get some nice fresh free range eggs, then we walked  back to the pub and went in for lunch.  The food is really good and it is a very friendly pub.  After we had lunch, we left the pub and walked over to the Anderton visitor centre and had a coffee and watched the lift working for a while, then headed back to the boat.  We are staying here tonight, then chugging off in the morning.
Out on to the Trent & Mersey
