Barlaston to Stone (Trent & Mersey Canal)

Working through the Meaford Flight
Out the bottom of the Meaford Flight
It was another dry day but a bit breezy today as we set off from Barlaston along the canal to the first of the four locks in this flight, a couple of boats in front of us but then a few boats were coming up as well so that was a help and the last two locks were set for us so it didn’t take too long to get through the flight.
Welcome to Stone

On along the canal to Stone.  We were going to go through the next two locks and moor up past there, but we came to some nice moorings and a lot of them before these two locks, so decided to moor there in case there wasn’t much after the two locks as we couldn’t really remember and good job we did as when we walked down there, there wasn’t really much mooring and what was there was full, so we made the right decision.

Chilled out for a bit, then walked down the tow path and up on to the road and into the town of Stone.  It is a nice town, quite small but with quite a few shops.  Had a walk around, stopped for coffee, then went to the Morrisons for a few supplies, then back to the boat.  We are staying here tonight then off again tomorrow.
