Great Haywood to Armitage (Trent & Mersey Canal)

In Colwich Lock
Leaving Colwich Lock
The sun was shining as we set off from Great Haywood this morning.  We got to the only lock we are going through today and there was  two boats in front of us and a few waiting to come up, so took a bit of time to get through here, but at least there were plenty  of people to help work the lock, then on we went to Rugeley.  We moored just before Bridge 66 and walked up to the shops.  The high street is quite nice with plenty of shops and there is also a Morrisons and an Aldi and nearest the canal there is now a Tesco, which wasn’t built when we were here two years ago. We did some shopping in Aldi and then walked back to the boat.

Power Station near Canal
Rugeley is okay but the moorings are not that great, they are abit enclosed, so we chugged on down the canal, past the Power Station which is quite near to the canal and under Bridge 62 and there are some nice open moorings there opposite the water tap.  We filled up with water, then moored up.  It was a nice sunny afternoon so we just chilled out.  We are staying here tonight, then chugging off tomorrow.
