Hopwas to Drayton Bassett (Birmingham & Fazeley Canal)

Red Lion pub
Coming up to Fazeley Junction
The sun was shining again today as we set off from Hopwas.  Past the Red Lion pub on the canal and on along towards the junction.  We stopped just before at the services to get water, etc, then just after we turned right onto the Birmingham & Fazeley canal and chugged on along there.  Drayton Manor theme park is nearby here, but we went on, no white knuckle rides for us, well we get that every day with Kev’s driving ha ha!!

Turning onto the Birmingham & Fazeley

Unusual Footbridge at Drayton Bassett

There is a very unusual footbridge here, so under that and we moored just after.  It wasn’t an official mooring and we couldn’t get right into the side, so we walked down to the next bridge to see if there were any better moorings and there was metal just after that bridge and it was nice and open and sunny, so we walked back to the boat and moved down to that spot.  It was near to the village of Drayton Bassett so we walked up to the village, no shops, just some houses and a school and a church but a nice village.

Walked back to the boat and chilled out.  Chugging off tomorrow and as we have 11 locks to do, we will be leaving early, so something to look forward to!!
